Being a part of the Summer Launch program this past summer has tremendously prepared me academically and mentally during my past and current semester as a freshman. I completed the program with a better comprehensive knowledge of how to use campus resources, manage my time wisely (as a student and personally), and build friendships between my peers and professors.
With the guidance of my summer launch professor and mentors, I was able to practice the many skills I learned and put to use my on campus resources, which in the end, helped me complete my first semester with a 3.78 GPA. I understand that to be a successful student, you must do your homework, ask your professors questions, and most importantly, study two hours per class every day. As a full-time student, I am able to balance my school work, a leadership role in the THREADS organization, and also be an active member of the Neo Black Society, NBS Gospel Choir, and in the Make A Difference House. I value my education; therefore, I will continue to challenge myself and be an active student here at UNCG so someday I will become successful fashion designer.
